We are a country that was founded by immigrants. In 2024 the CDC reported the lowest birth rate ever recorded If we are going to continue to grow our nation and compete on the world stage with China and India’s 2.8 billion people we are going to have to continue to rely on immigration to fill the gaps in population growth. Having a secure border is fundamental to national security and if you enter this country illegally you are a criminal. I support all efforts to keep our border secure and deporting those who enter illegally and I support new immigration polices that provide realistic pathways to citizenship for those from impoverished countries.
I would not support a national abortion ban. I am very pro-life, but you must weigh the risk reward to a national ban. A national ban would not have any meaningful impact on the number of abortions performed, it would simply change where and who’s doing them and I don’t think moving them out of hospitals and clinics with board certified doctors and into other countries that do not have the same medical standards as us or unlicensed, unregulated illegal facilities is in the best interest of a woman’s health.
Since the third Tawain Strait Crises of 1995 China has focused on closing the gap with the US navy, invading Taiwan and surpassing the United States of America in all fields to become the world’s only superpower. President Xi Jinping has doubled his efforts in the last 10 years to achieve these goals. China has militarized the South China Sea deployed a very large and capable nuclear trident, built the largest navy in the world, developed a large rocket force capable of hitting any US asset or location, built several stealth platforms in large quantities and the scariest part they now have shipbuilding capacity nearly 220 times greater than us. He has also made it very clear that he intends on invading Taiwan by force in the very near future something that multiple US presidents have said they would not allow to happen.
If we know that China has been spending trillions on their military capabilities for decades with the overall goal of killing American servicemembers and establishing dominance in their new world order why are the American taxpayers being forced to give them a 536-million-dollar tax break? War is not inevitable with China but if we are going to prevent it, we must take a multi-level approach. Our diplomacy with China has failed, a new policy must be adapted that bars all foreign adversaries access to our financial markets or taxpayer funded incentives, China cannot be allowed to reap the benefits of conducting business with America while at the same time preparing to go to war with us.
Besides adding the correct diplomatic and financial pressures on
China we also need to immediately invest heavily in our industrial base, long maintenance delays late deliveries and questionable choices in platform development have left the US navy at a large disadvantage to rising threats, our ships are stuck in port when they should be projecting power.
Being an elected official is the highest honor of being an American citizen, those who abuse that privilege should be subject to lengthy jail sentences and heavy financial penalties. Handing out heavy sentences to corrupt politicians sends a clear message and will help to prevent the next generation.
Our entire district is in a prime location to take advantage of the recent push to build American, I plan on working with multiple industries including auto and shipbuilding to bring those jobs here, we need manufacturing and tech not more warehouses. The redeveloping of the Calumet River basin is a top priority of mine not only will it create those jobs but it will also provide national security.
Tax breaks and credits focusing on families, education expense's, extracurricular activities, sports expense's, tutoring, volunteer time would all be deductible under my plan. lower tax brackets, higher real-estate tax deductions, raise the age on the child tax credit, no taxes on retires.
Its not just manufacturing jobs we've lost, in the last decade millions of white collar jobs were outsourced to overseas remote workers, legal secretaries, customer service, telehealth, accounting, marketing IT the list goes on. I plan on introducing legislation that closes the tax loopholes and increase's the taxes on American companies outsourcing white collar jobs to other countries.
I support eliminating the 166k cap on SS payments, with the additional fund's monthly payments and yearly cost of living increases would substantially rise for everyone.
Mr. Kovaka has been an active volunteer in his community for many years, working tirelessly to make it a better place. He has spent decades being a role model and mentor to our youth.
